Everything Summer Camp in the News
Season 6 of Donald Trump's show, The Apprentice, is taking place in Los Angeles and they asked us to be a part of it.
18 candidates, split up into 2 teams, will compete to earn the job of a lifetime, a year-long apprenticeship in the Trump Organization. As a new twist this season the winning team gets to sleep inside a mansion while the losing team must sleep outside in tents. But things aren't all bad for the losing team; they do get to live out of our attractive, yet rugged, C&N Footlockers.
C & N Footlockers recently appeared on a camping segment on the Martha Stewart Show!
We were honored to be invited on Martha Stewarts show for her segment on getting ready for summer camp. On the episode of Martha, airing on May 26th of 06, the applauded Dr. Chris Thurber displayed our footlocker, describing it as really sturdy, and, something you can stand on. Dr. Chris Thurber, a board-certified clinical psychologist, wrote the book on summer campsliterally. As the co-author of the critically acclaimed Summer Camp Handbook, he feels that many of the 12 million children that go to summer camps suffer homesickness. Taking possessions along to summer camp is a great way to relieve this stress. A C&N Footlocker is a great way to get sentimental possessions to summer camp and back!

In March of 2006 C&N Footlockers appeared on the popular television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, our first time on national TV!
In the show, the CSI team finds a rapper stuffed in a custom built C&N Footlocker. Upon seeing the footlocker, Captain Jim Brass, played by Paul Guilfoyle, utters, Whats that? Open this up! They find the dehydrated and disoriented rapper inside, but despite his condition he refuses to get out of the trunk.
Thanks to the CSI TV Series for giving us the opportunity to participate in the show.
The second floor of the house has separate boys and girls bunk rooms, similar to a cabin at camp. The design was a must-have for Barbara...
who went to summer camp in Wisconsin for 10 years while growing up Both bunk rooms have six twin beds, which are all used almost weekend. Each child has a trunk for storing belongings.

Take a dash of The O.C., add a pinch of The Real World and you've got the
recipe for MTV's new series Laguna Beach-The real Orange County. LB's all-teen
cast (five girls and three guys) will chill in SoCal's most happening burb
while the cameras roll. "I'm a little nervous about the show coming out,"
says Kristin with a laugh. "It shows me and my boyfriend being romantic."
Fortunately the stars don't have to fret about broadcasting their love affair
with fashion. Kristin's crazy about "jeans, jackets and T-shirts."
Morgan is into "bold and innovative" clothing. Lo is all about "dressing
comfortably but still cute." LC digs "a beachy and laid-back look,"
and Christina says, "My favorite looks are sophisticated and classy."
But while the fab five represent a full spectrum of personal style, they all
agree that the fashions they're sporting on these pages are the coolest.

Footlocker Company Introduces New Warranty Program
C&N
Footlockers, Inc. has issued the first warranty of its kind among footlocker
companies. C&N will unconditionally repair its footlockers free of
charge, no matter how they broke. The customer simply has to call the
company for instructions on how to ship the footlocker back to the factory.

According to Ed Holand, sales and marketing
director: "We believe in the durability of our footlockers and this
should prove to all of our customers that we truly do stand behind and
on top of our product... for life. Sure we take some risk that someone
may abuse this warranty, but our product really is the best footlocker
on the market and we want a dramatic way to show that a C&N Footlocker
should be the first and last footlocker our customer will need to buy.
This will really help our retail partners separate our footlockers from
the typical vinyl footlockers on the market."

USA Today
College dorm rooms used to be places for hanging out.
But in a world of laptops and other pricey digital doodads, they're
becoming places to loot. The result: the emergence of a multimillion-dollar
industry for dorm room security.

Students can cart $3,000 or more in gear to campus just
by toting their laptop computers, digital cameras, MP3 players, PDAs
and DVD players.
To keep these high-tech toys from being heisted, some
students are lugging steel-fortified footlockers to campus or tucking
laptops into digital safes. Dorm officials are ordering lockable
student desks and installing the keyless room locks common in hotels.
"Today's
laptop is yesterday's bicycle." says Eddie Hull, president of
the Association of College and University Housing Officers International.
Reported on-campus burglaries were a record 29,256 in
2002 - the most recent year tracked by the U.S. Department of Education.
At Yale, laptop theft jumped 37% last year vs. 2002. At Texas A&M,
15 laptops were stolen from campus buildings during the 2003 spring
semester alone. And Stanford saw a rash of laptop thefts last year.
Some solutions:
> Steel Footlockers: Sales
to college students are on a tear. By next year, college students
will likely account for more than 25% of sales, up from 3% five years
ago, says Ed Holand at C&N Footlockers.
The University of Wisconsin and
Texas A&M have signed licensing deals on the footlockers, which
retail for up to $199.
> Digital Safes: "Five years ago, we
weren't even thinking about the university market," says Chris
Bentien, co-owner of Global Safe. But it just signed a deal with a
firm that operates dorms at Northwestern. The safes, which retail
for $105 to $129, are designed to hold all laptops, Bentien says.
> Keyless Door Locks: Some fraternities at
Michigan State University and Central Michigan University replaced
room door locks with digital locks supplied by Digital Systems at
$99.95 each. "The campus potential is substantial," says
Doug Hill, president of Digital.
> Lockable Furniture: The $100 Security Cube,
a cabinet with a lockable door that fits under a desk, is a hit for
furniture maker Southwest Contract.
