Camp Cheerio
Organized by the YMCA, Camp Cheerio offers campers a non-competitive summer camp experience where campers are encouraged to push outside of their comfort zone in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Campers use their four or six-week session to explore 135 acres of Blue Ridge mountainside with over thirty activities to choose from to fill their camp days. Sessions include over three hundred campers per session with two camp counselors per cabin.
Camp Cheerio Activities
Camp Cheerio campers select ten potential activities they’d like to participate in during their camp session and then are assigned eight. Typically campers have four distinct activity sessions a day alongside meal times, free time, and downtime. Campers can choose to relax and hang out with friends or spend free periods doing more activities they love.

Outside of scheduled activities, each camper gets to participate in camp-wide evening games after dinner which include classics like capture the flag, challenges against their cabin porch mates and of course campfire time complete with s'mores and songs!
Camp Cheerio Packing List
Camp Cheerio's packing list emphasizes making sure you bring along the gear you need for the activities you're most interested in like having your tennis racquet, fishing rod, golf clubs, and musical instrument.
